A return
to craft.
Solid wood, visible joinery, designed and made in the same room. Furniture in the Arts & Crafts tradition, built for use.
Most furniture today is disposable. Flat-packed, particleboard, designed to fail.
Morris and Stickley answered a version of the same problem in the 1880s. Their reply was the Arts & Crafts movement: solid material, visible joinery, the same hands on design and making.
Same problem today. Same answer. Call it a New Arts & Crafts.
